How Griddy works

No charts. No holding. Just the next 5 minutes.

The loop

  1. A new round opens every 5 minutes with a grid of 9–12 tickers — Stock Tokens while the exchange is open, top memes after hours (clearly labeled).
  2. Build a basket: pick 1–5 tickers, weight them in 10% steps to a total of 100% (e.g. 50% NVDA / 20% TSLA / 30% AMZN).
  3. Stake $GRIDDY on your basket while betting is open — the first stretch of the round. You can exit for a full refund any time before betting closes.
  4. When betting closes, prices lock and your basket is measured for the rest of the round. Open to result is 5 minutes.
  5. At the close, the weighted move of your basket (Basket Return) is computed on-chain from oracle prices averaged over the final ~20 seconds — one late trade can't flip a round.

Payouts

All stakes (minus rake) form the round pool. If your Basket Return is positive, you win a share of the pool proportional to stake × strength of the move — a +2% basket earns a bigger share than a +0.2% one. Flat or negative baskets leave their stake in the pool. If nobody wins, the whole pool rolls into a future round.

Rake & discounts

The base rake is 5% of your stake. Hold 500+ $GRIDDY and it drops to 4%; hold 2000+ and it's 3%. A slice of every rake funds the streak bonus reserve; the rest goes to the protocol treasury.

Streaks

Every consecutive played round with a positive Basket Return grows your streak; each step adds a small payout multiplier (up to a cap). A flat/negative round resets it to zero — and skipping a round breaks it too, unless you hold streak insurance (bought with $GRIDDY, burned, limited per week, covers one missed round). The streak bonus is paid from the rake-funded reserve — never from other players' pool.

Participation bonus

Win or lose, each settled round credits a small $GRIDDY play bonus (daily cap per wallet) from the Play-to-Earn reserve, while it lasts. Claim it any time from your profile.

Rollover & safety valves

  • Rollover: if a round doesn't reach the minimum number of players by the bell, it extends into the next window instead of settling unfairly. Your stake stays; you can also exit anytime while betting is open.
  • Dead-man switch: if the operator ever fails to close a round, anyone can cancel it after a grace period and every stake becomes refundable in full, rake included.
  • Transparency: lock/close prices, every basket and every payout are on-chain and shown in Round History — recompute anything.

Responsible play

Rounds are short by design, so guardrails ship with the game, not after it: a hard on-chain cap on bets per wallet per day, and a soft reminder with your own stats when you're playing a lot. These exist to protect you, not the house. The grid resets every 5 minutes — it can wait for you.

What $GRIDDY is (and isn't)

$GRIDDY is the game's stake currency: you need it to play, it discounts rake, and it buys streak insurance. It pays no yield, dividends, staking rewards or revenue share. Its market price moves — your stake's value can change between rounds. This game involves risk and is not available in restricted regions; nothing here is investment advice.
